Sleep Week has arrived. Whether you’re on the side of keeping daylight savings or hope to get rid of the clock-adjusting routine, now is the perfect time to take advantage of all the bedding sales as your body adapts to losing an hour. And as someone who needs a minimum of eight hours of sleep (more for proper functioning than beauty), I firmly believe in making investments to create the best sleeping experience one could have.

If you've watched some of Tabitha Brown's videos, read her books, seen her TV show, or even tasted some of her recipes, you likely already have a sense of her warm and highly-energetic personality. Tabitha's star really started to rise after a video of her eating a vegan BLT sandwich from Whole Foods went viral. She quickly became an ambassador for Whole Foods, began sharing vegan recipes on social media, starred in her own children's series, Tab Time and as host of Food Network'sIt's CompliPlated, cofounded the hair-care line Donna's Recipe, created a line of seasonings with McCormick and a line of home products for Target, and authored four books (so far). She does this and so much more all with an effusive warmth and giant smile. Here's a glimmer of insight into how she does it all so seemingly effortlessly.
Do you store countless cleaning products under your kitchen sink—perhaps some that have only ever been used a few times or have never even been opened? Sussing out the good cleaning products and tools from the subpar ones usually requires a lot of trial and error. But if you don’t have the time or patience for all that guesswork, looking closely at customer ratings and reviews is a tried-and-true way to find which cleaning products are actually worth the hype. Reviews are full of helpful anecdotes that give you a better idea of what to expect; say you’re looking for a scrubbing brush and you find that someone shared that it was able to remove a months-old stain, wouldn’t that convince you to give it a chance? Shopper favorites with loads of high ratings are more likely to be the ones you’ll actually reach for over and over again—and they’re also more likely to get the job done right, too.
If you’re a dedicated fan of Taylor Swift, you probably already know that her classic drink of choice is vodka with Diet Coke. But that doesn’t mean the pop star doesn’t have a go-to cocktail that's a little more elevated—and her latest girl’s night out gave us a new order to try. Rye restaurant in Kansas City reported at the beginning of January that when she's getting drinks, she usually goes for a French Blonde cocktail.

Living deep in the Irish countryside as I do, surrounded by a centuries-old patchwork of farm fields, hedgerows and leafy pockets of ancient native woodland, a clear winter night sky is a thing of profound beauty. It is filled with the otherworldly shimmer of a host of constellations, familiar to me from my childhood.
Liatris spicata is one of my favorite perennials in my front yard garden. Commonly referred to as Dense Blazing Star, Blazing Star, and Gayfeather, my appreciation for this plant native to parts of North America, is well documented. Stems surrounded by vibrant, grass-like green foliage shoot up and form long tips covered in buds. Eventually, feathery, pinkish-purple flowers emerge, attracting bees and other pollinators. Then, as the flowers dry, they look like brown, fuzzy bottle brushes. That’s one of the reasons Liatris is high on my list: four-season interest. In this article, I’m going to share tips for planting Liatris, why I consider it to be a perfect perennial, and what not to do with it in the fall.

Alright, one last wishlist post from me, your GPOD editor… This time I’m looking past flowers to foliage that I want to add to the garden. Everyone knows that foliage is the heart of a well-designed garden as it lasts so much longer than flowers. BUT I’m very guilty of being seduced by pretty flowers, so I need to really focus on stepping up my foliage game this year.
