London Holland Park’s water feature in Kyoto Garden.
Our names are Jonny and April, and we are from Barnsley in the north of England. We recently moved into a brand-new property with a rectangle of grass for a garden. Over the last five months we have transformed the garden into the beginnings of a tropical paradise, the main feature being the pondless waterfall. Neither of us had ever undertaken a garden project before; however, we have completed all of the work ourselves through the use of YouTube videos and online articles for assistance.
Greatest Mother's Day present ever — was building a waterfall in our backyard together with my son. Thanks also go to another older son who contributed a few heavier rocks as well, and my hubby who was in charge of hooking up the plumbing aspects and critiquing as we went along.
I've been wanting a stock tank pool, or as we call them, a redneck swimming pool for at least 3 years now. I'm not going to lie, the stock tanks are expensive! We happened across a bargain and got both of the tanks and all the flag stone for $75 total! Bargain of a lifetime right there!
I absolutely love water features, I find the sound of running water calming and soothing. So, I have been working on a couple new water features in my yard, and today I’m sharing one of them. I have this large granite boulder in my back yard that looked a little boring, so I decided what better way to spruce it up then to add a beautiful DIY pond and waterfall, and, since we don’t have electric power in this area, I chose a solar pump with a backup battery to ensure the waterfall was running for a large part of the day without having to run extension cords throughout the yard (plus I love using green energy whenever possible!). I also added in some solar lights both in the pond and around so it looks spectacular at night!
We all enjoy the serene look of nature a waterfall brings. You can imitate one in your backyard easily, but what to do if you live in a small urban apartment? Well, you can still have it–If you take inspiration from these awesome DIY Indoor Waterfall Ideas and start making one.
