Pothos have heart-like leaves, whereas philos’ leaves can be more elongated. They also are thicker, less waxy and more matte, as compared to pothos.
Pothos are champion climbers, which makes them a go to choice for hanging baskets, or any place where you might need a trailing plant.
Philodendrons are also climbers, but they do have varieties that can grow without any support. Their stems are also a tad thinner than pothos.
Philodendrons have cataphyll that protects the leaves when they are is young. Pothos lacks this, and has no protective covering for the foliage.
