Part of the fun of decorating with plants is choosing a vessel that captures your attention. However, many fake plants come situated inside simple plastic vessels with faux dirt on top, which isn't the most convincing setup nor an aesthetically pleasing one. In order to make your fake plants appear as real as possible, you can try a couple of simple hacks.
Alexis Warren, the founder of Alexis Warren Designs, recommends placing your fake plant into a real vessel and using items like moss to make it look real.
Ania Agárdy, a designer, adds that placing stones or soil on top of fake plants will also make a major difference. Need to make your plant appear a bit taller in the pot? There's a hack for that, too, according to designer Liad Schwartz.
«After placing your tree in the pot, fill the base with plastic bags or shredded paper to achieve the desired height,» he says.
