It’s hard to believe that it’s been just 10 years since Chip and Joanna Gaines first caught the attention of home renovation fans on HGTV's Fixer Upper, which catapulted the couple to the mainstream and became the blueprint for house flipping shows. The beloved couple introduced modern farmhouse decor to millions of homeowners who took to heart Joanna’s love of moody color paired with neutrals, barn doors, pale wood, and, of course, shiplap. Now, the design dream team is back with their latest flip on their most recent show, Fixer-Upper: The Lakehouse.
“We’re so excited to see how Chip and Jo will tackle this lakehouse in Waco and flex their renovation and design muscles in ways our viewers have never seen before," Magnolia Network president Allison Page said.
Fixer Upper: The Lakehouse is a six-episode show featuring a mid-century modern lakefront home in a Waco neighborhood the couple hasn't yet graced with their renovation magic.
The teaser trailer, posted on Magnolia Network's YouTube channel on March 5, shows Joanna walking through the spacious property, full of stunning floor-to-ceiling windows, a chef's kitchen with stainless steel accents, and a stunning view. She's in search of her husband, calling out his name: «We got a demo,» she says. She finds him clad in overalls, floating in the lake.
The show is sure to feature more of Chip’s expert construction and goofy jokes, along with Joanna’s always-inspirational design and enduring patience for Chip’s aforementioned humor (as exhibited in the trailer). While it's unlikely you'll see any shiplap in this redesign, her signature touches, including unique paint colors and gorgeous area rugs, are likely to make an appearance.

Here are some amazing specimens, popular for their dark, almost black foliage. You may provide a stunning contrast to other plants and flowers by growing these Best Black Grasses.
Sowing a seed directly into the ground, nurturing it, and reaping the rewards is one of the easiest gardening activities you can do—yet many gardeners don’t. There are many reasons to direct sow. Often, you’ll have earlier harvests because the seeds will germinate when it’s the perfect time to grow, and stronger seedlings because transplant shock isn’t an issue. Planting seeds in general (instead of buying transplants) gives you more varietal options, and you can also save a lot of money (1 packet of 30 to 150 seeds often costs less than a 6-pack of plants). And then there is the personal satisfaction factor. Ask any child who has planted a sunflower seed how they feel when that flower towers over their head, and you’ll understand what I mean.
Now that we’re firmly planted in March, it feels safe to say it out loud: spring is practically here. Along with bluer skies and brighter days, it also brings the perfect time of year for cleaning and organizing.
Hilary Duff has earned the right to be a little particular, and she’s not apologizing for it. Duff may be a busy mom of three (soon to be four—she announced that she was expecting in December), but she still carves out space to curate an atmosphere that works for her, even if that curation happens once the kids are off to school.
