As far as we're concerned, every season is spritz season. And while, yes, we named the Hugo spritz the drink of summer 2023, we're planning to enjoy the sparkling libations all year long.
As much as we adore the Hugo's elderflower twist on the bubbly, low-ABV cocktail, we love the Aperol spritz in all its guises. So, we immediately stopped scrolling on social media when we spotted a drink recipe that mashes up the concept of an Aperol spritz with another crowd-pleasing drink (sangria) and employs a kitchen tool that makes the process even cooler.

According to Ereka Vetrini, whose how-to video for this drink has already racked up more than 2.2 million views on TikTok and 73,200 likes on Instagram, “The press forces the fruit flavors to infuse into the drink quicker,” she explains in the caption. “If you don’t have a press, you can absolutely make it in a large pitcher. Just let it sit in the fridge longer so that the fruit flavors have time to infuse into the spritz.”
