Learn How to Grow Manjula Pothos and include this handsome specimen in your indoor plant collection that’s also quite easy to maintain!
Manjula pothos is an easy-to-care specimen with large, heart-shaped foliage variegated in green, cream, and white. It can grow up to 3-6 feet tall indoors, given the right growing conditions.
Like other pothos specimens, the plant is resilient and adaptable to average growing conditions.
You can start Manjula pothos in an 8-10 inches container. As the plant grows, re-pot it into one size bigger pot depending on its spread.
Propagating Manjula Pothos via cuttings is the best and easiest way. Snip off 4-6 inches long stem and plant it in well-draining soil. Water well, keep it in indirect bright light, and you will see new growth in 2-4 weeks.
Due to its bright variegation, Manjula pothos needs a little more light exposure than the other solid green pothos. Expose the plant for 2-3 hours in the direct mild morning sun for the best colors on the leaves. Without proper light exposure, the leaves may turn completely green.
Avoid keeping the plant in complete shade or the harsh afternoon sunlight.
A regular potting mix is more than enough for the good growth of this plant. Use a blend of vermiculite or perlite in the growing medium in the ratio of 2:1 to enhance drainage.
You can add one portion of shredded pine bark, or coconut coir to boost plant growth. It grows best at a pH level between 6-6.5.
Manjula pothos hates to sit in the water, so avoid overwatering it. Dip your index finger in the soil to check the topsoil—if it feels dry to the touch, then only water the plant.
Also, during the colder months, the plant enters the dormant stage, so cut back watering in winter.
