Benjamin Moore Encourages Renters to Paint with New Offer

Renting can be difficult for a whole host of reasons: Rental costs are rising, landlords can be strict or unhelpful, there can be pretty high upfront costs, and it can mean you move more often, which can become pretty expensive. And on top of all of that, you have to be very careful with how you decorate your home—that is, if you want your security deposit back.

Most renters don’t paint the walls of their apartment for fear that a landlord would say that goes against their lease agreement and withhold the security deposit. But Benjamin Moore is about to change that for renters in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K.

Through the month of August, up to 10,000 renters who purchase at least a gallon of Benjamin Moore Regal Select Interior paint—which comes in more than 3,500 colors—can redeem a complimentary gallon of Regal Select Interior in Ready-Mix White from July 15, 2025, through September 15, 2025, if they show their receipt. That means you can paint your home to your heart’s desire and, if you’re selected after registering your purchase with the giveaway form, you won’t have to pay for the cost of white paint to return your walls to their original condition.

“Despite the desire for more personalized living spaces, renters often hesitate to paint due to concerns around returning the rental back to its original form at the end of the lease,” Harriette Martins, senior vice president of marketing at Benjamin Moore, said in a press release. “Using premium quality paints provides DIYers and professionals alike the confidence to transform any room—from the first color application through to restoring the space back to its traditional white walls.”
