Botanical Name: Lonicera
First on the list of vines that make good ground cover, it grows flowers in red, pink, or yellow shades usually from May to midsummer. It is also known to attract hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees and though it could also be quite invasive in nature.
Botanical Name: Campsis radicans
Trumpet Vine bears flowers in shades of orange, red, or yellow in the shape of a trumpet between June and September after which the leaves become yellow in color in the fall. Please remember that this vine can cause skin irritation if you come in direct contact.

Another vines that make good ground cover, it produces flowers from May to June or July in shades of lavender, blue, white, or purple. With stems that start to root as soon as they touch the ground, this hardy vine has a tendency to be invasive in nature.

This ornamental plant with small white-coloured flowers throughout spring and red-coloured berries that last throughout the winter, could be a good choice for being a ground cover. It is a good option to cover not only some slopes but also for shady, bare spots.

This June, some of our J. Parker’s team helped to put the finishing touches to the patient garden at St David’s Hospice in Llandudno, North Wales. We donated a new gazebo, planters, compost and hundreds of bedding plants to help finish off the garden which the St David’s team have lovingly built so that the patients at the hospice can enjoy an outside space full of colourful flowers.
