If you've found yourself drawn to Mediterranean style as of late, you're certainly not alone. Jeffrey Dungan of Jeffrey Dungan Architects greatly appreciates Mediterranean style design and shares a few of its key elements.
«What I love most about this architectural style is the simplicity of the type of materials used inside and out,» he comments.
«Due to the climate and the region, we are led to use materials that can take the heat, wind, and salty air.» This means extensive use of stone, stucco, terra cotta, and tiles—to name a few.
Of these materials, Lissette Fernandez-Hilson of Together Home particularly enjoys working with terracotta, which she says makes for excellent wall color, too. To round out the look, she likes to add some greenery and marble to the mix.
