Despite Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin—the dynamic duo behind the company—being on tour to promote their new book The Home Edit: Stay Organized: The Ultimate Guide to Making Systems Stick, we were able to steal some of their time to get their best tips on handling the hardest spaces in the home: the chaos spaces.
Here are Clea and Joanna's best advice for wrangling every explosion of a space, from the chaos closet to the overflowing towel shelf.

A recently created at-home workspace (or even a long-established one) might not have any storage, especially if your home workspace is a kitchen table or couch when everything has to be cleared away at the end of the day.
To avoid creating a work dumping ground, «We suggest using a two- or three-tier cart to house your work essentials and move it wherever your 'office' is for the day,» Clea says.
Prep the cart so before you use it so doesn't become a chaos zone either. «Create a command center for handling incoming and outgoing papers, a charging station, and a divided bin for your supplies to maintain a tidy workspace,» Joanna says.

The chaos closet is full of the stuff that goes in a closet, but you don't have enough of that thing to dedicate a closet to it (or just not enough closets), so all the random items just go in one closet together.
