Everyone wants a pristine kitchen counter—it’s the ultimate sign of a sparkly-clean home. But it’s not exactly practical to have a totally empty working surface, either. Not everyone has the cupboard or drawer space to store every single item that’s left out on a kitchen counter—and even if you do, some things are best left out where they’re more accessible. Who wants to sort through kitchen cupboards to find the salt and pepper while cooking?
If you’re working with a lot of different items spread out across your countertop, you might want to consider consolidating them in one area.
Act as though you’re creating a tabletop arrangement with the miscellaneous items; staggering sizes, choosing a few items to be the focus of the arrangement, and ensuring everything is accessible within the group.

The biggest difference when it comes to perceiving items as clutter and perceiving items as being organized is their container. Your desk isn’t organized if you have a pile of pens lying out on top of it, but once you put those pens in a cup, you’re all set.
If you’re working with a lot of countertop clutter, you may want to opt for a large decorative tray or lazy Susan to organize your items. Even if you’re not tucking counter clutter away in actual boxes or organizers, anything that can draw a visual divider between the countertop and the items on it will help your space look more organized.
This also means that you can use other items that are being left out on your kitchen countertop as open containers—think toaster ovens, rice cookers, air fryers, or microwaves. If you have a useful kitchen item that has space on top for displaying additional items, it could be useful—this will also save you

The winding peaks and troughs of Arizona’s Verde Valley, weaving through jagged ochre mountains, dreamy cactus-clad deserts and deep volcanic canyons, make up some of the most iconic images of the American West. For thousands of years, the valley has been home to both the Verde River, one of Arizona’s only perennial wild rivers, and to Indigenous communities from the ancient Sinagua and Hohokam peoples to present-day tribes including the Yavapai, Hopi, Apache and Zuni. It is also home to 270 species of birds, 94 species of mammals and 76 species of native amphibians and reptiles. All this makes the Verde River key to the history, culture and ecosystem of central Arizona.

Oxalis triangularis, also known as false shamrock, is an eye-catching bulbous perennial that makes an excellent and long-lived house plant. Bold, dramatic foliage in shades of dark purple to wine-red creates a striking contrast to blush-white flowers borne in summer. The leaves are three-lobed, hence the name of shamrock which it resembles, though is not actually related to. Oxalis triangularis is native to from Brazil. Its leaves have extra fascination because they open during the day and close at night.
