Event planners Celia Duncan and Stevie Rozean with Wildly Collective are masters at the art of outdoor entertaining, and here they graciously share some of their trade secrets with us for making the teardown and tidying a breeze.
Duncan and Rozean's favorite event cleanup tool isn't anything high-end or fancy; It's actually just a series of plastic tubs. They recommend having about a dozen plastic tubs in varying sizes on hand, especially to make dishes an easier chore. You can store these cleanup bins in an accessible, nearby spot that is also out of sight, such as under a buffet table with a tablecloth on it.
«Have one to dispose of compost and another one in the kitchen filled with soapy water,» Duncan says. «As guests finish with their plates, put them in the soapy water tub. This makes rinsing go faster, and you can also utilize one as a rinsing tub.»
She suggests having an additional tub on hand for putting any rented serving ware in after you dry it. For all other dishes, you can run them through the dishwasher to make sure they are extra clean before storing.
Additionally, you can use a bin as a dedicated spot for pouring leftover liquids into and another bin for gathering up dishes before placing them in the soapy water bin.
