One of this year's most captivating predictions is hypnotic design, a style that includes a loosely patterned, intricate wood veneer. Its hypnotic look takes center stage, even when used on smaller pieces of furniture. Hypnotic design started in the 1980s with Ettore Sottsass, the pioneer of the Memphis design movement. This design era was developed in response to the low-key minimalism of mid-century modern decor that was popular in the 1950s and early 1960s—and is still on trend today.

Another Trader Joe's recall, this time for Texas Tamale Company's Gourmet Black Bean Tamales (in nine states), has customers wondering what's going on with their much-loved grocery store. This is the sixth recall by the company, which has 564 markets nationwide. 

Trader Joe’s has announced a recall of its Trader Joe’s Multigrain Crackers with Sunflower and Flax Seeds (SKU# 76156). The grocery store, with 564 stores across the United States, was advised by its supplier that the product, with best if used by dates 03/01/24 — 03/05/24, may contain metal, according to communication from the company.
