Now, there’s no question that a regular-sized washing machine is best for tackling loads of laundry. But when it comes to handwashing a small item or two, you might want to reach for your salad spinner instead of filling up a sink or basin.

A salad spinner can be multitalented after all, although you might need to monitor your expectations when using it outside the kitchen, says Logan Taylor, founder of Dazzle Cleaning Company in Seattle, Washington.
After all, that spinner is designed for holding a bag of lettuce, not a basket of laundry. He says it typically works well for smaller items like socks, bras, underwear, and swimsuits, but you could also use it for T-shirts, blouses, and shorts.
